Near East University Required Scores for Admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs

The table below shows the Near East University required scores for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The required score for admission has been made based on the curriculum and scores of previous schools and universities as well as the country of education.

Near East University required scores for admission (as a minimum) from any of the following exam results.

General high school certificate of high school diploma
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 60 or higher in the scientific or industrial stream
  • For other programs: A score of 50 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination
  • 2 A level (for veterinary medicine, dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy, at least one of A levels in math, physics, biology, and chemistry)
  • 1 A level and 4 O levels (for engineering A levels in maths, physics, or biology)
  • 1 A level and 4 O levels (for other programs) (Two subsidiary advanced level subjects are equal to one advanced level subject)

 

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) examination
  • For dentistry, engineering, medicine, and pharmacy: A total score of 1000 out of 1600 or higher
  • For other programs: A total score of 900 out of 1600 or higher

 

American College Testing (ACT) examination
  • For dentistry, engineering, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 22 or higher
  • For other programs: A score of 21 or higher

 

International Baccalaureate examination
  • A total score of 28 or higher on the condition that one of the four exam subjects should be directly related to the department applied

 

Tawjihi examination (for students from Jordan)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 60 or higher in the scientific or industrial stream
  • For other programs: A score of 50 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

Tawjihi examination (for students from Palestine)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 80 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific or industrial stream
  • For other programs: A score of 60 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

General high school certificate (for students from Palestine)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 80 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific or industrial stream
  • For other programs: A score of 60 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

Baccalaureate Libanais (for students from Lebanon or Iraq)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific stream. (For Lebanese students, 16 or higher)
  • For engineering: A score of 60 or higher in the scientific stream (for Lebanese students, 14 or higher)
  • For other programs: A score of 50 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams. (For Lebanese students, 10 or higher)

 

Baccalaureate examination (for students from Syria)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 240 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 220 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For other programs: A score of 180 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

WAEC/ NECO/ NABTEB (for students from Nigeria)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A minimum score of 7 credits including maths, physics, and chemistry or biology
  • For engineering: A minimum score of 6 credits including maths and physics
  • For other programs: A minimum of 5 credits including maths and English

 

Higher secondary certificate examination (for students from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score of 80 or higher in the scientific stream
  • For engineering: A score of 70 or higher in the scientific or industrial stream
  • For other programs: A score of 50 or higher in the scientific, literary, or other streams

 

Diplome Debirestan (for students from Iran)
  • For dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy: A score (GPA) of 16 or higher
  • For engineering: A score (GPA) of 14 or higher
  • For programs other than Engineering: A score (GPA) of 13 or higher

 

GAOKAO exam results (for Chinese students)
  • A total score of min. average 460 out of 750 or higher
  • All depts except medicine: Min. grade average of 60% on the Four-scale grade system or 70% on the Five-scale grade system
  • Medicine: Min. grade average of 75% on the Four-scale grade system or 80% on Five-scale grade system

Near East University required scores for admission (as a minimum) to graduate and postgraduate studies.

Applicants for master’s programs with thesis must possess a bachelor’s degree with CPGA > 2.50/4.00.

For some programs such as professional degree programs, CGPA’s of 2.00-2.49 may be acceptable subject to Faculty Board decision.

Applicants for doctoral programs must possess a master‘s degree of 3.5/4.0 CGPA.

The Turkish citizens should have an ALES score of a minimum of 55 received within last three years. GRE (mathematical) = 610 or GMAT= 450 are equivalent to ALES=55. In some programs, additional requirements may be expected. For any further details, related departments should be consulted. However, students applying for Non-thesis Master‘s programs are exempted from ALES.

An applicant who does not possess the ‘ALES’ certificate may register as a special student. No diplomas are issued for special students. However such students receive a document issued by the Registrar’s Office specifying courses taken and grades obtained. At most half of the credits necessary to complete the program can be transferred from the program registered as a special student to the current program of study when the student applies as a regular student.
